Brief History
Dr. Edward M. Penson, our firm's founder, established what today is Penson Associates,Inc over forty years ago.Under Dr. Penson's leadership Penson Associates,Inc. evolved into one of higher education's most credible research and consultation firms that is known and admired for experience and competence of its associates,the quality of its services to its many clients, and the integrity with which it carries out its responsibilities.
As loyal clients referred increasing numbers of new clients to the firm, Penson Associates,Inc.'s growth greatly accelerated. During our four decades of service to our valued clients, quality control has been an intrinsic value in our consultion and faciltation services. The firm's determination to link our research and experiential activities with our client's special needs and interestswhen has always been the core value of our firm.
Most of our early clientele were from the corporate and government sectors. Gradually, our professional interests, developing expertise and client demand encouraged us to steer our client-base ever closer to the higher education and not-for-profit settings.
In 1989, we made a conscious decision to focus our work exclusively in the higher education and not-for-profit sectors. Our current leadership and senior associates all possess emonstrated expertise in these fields. All of our senior associates have had rich experience as a highly effective president or chancellor of a university and or higher education system. everal of our associates have served two presidencies with exemplary track records in both. The firm's associates have served on boards, conducted research in the field of higher education and/or non-profit organizations and have well documented competence in at least one specialized field.
In 2003 the firm's officers and associates elected to change the name of our firm from its original name, "Penson-Strawbridge", to "Penson Associates, Inc." in order to accommodate changes in corporate leadership and structure.
