Background
Dr. Wendell G. Rayburn, Sr. is a Senior Associate of Penson Associates and is former president of Savannah State College in Georgia and of Lincoln University in Missouri. Dr. Rayburn also served in senior level positions at the University of Detroit, as Associate Dean for Academic Support Programs, and at the University of Louisville.
He has worked as a consultant in the areas of human relations, institutional fiscal affairs and in leadership and team building for academic department chairs and deans. In addition, he has worked in the area of presidential performance.
For several years, Dr. Rayburn served as a facilitate or and faculty member in the AASCU New residents’ Academy and the Experience Presidents’ Academy He has a special understanding of teacher education having spent eleven years as a science teacher and administrator within the Detroit Public Schools. He also has extensive experience in program development for minority and disadvantaged students.
