Background

 

 

Dr. Frank G. Pogue is Interim President of Grambling State University and recently served at Chicago State University in a similar capacity. 

 

He is Presdient Emeritus of Edinboro University of Pennslyvania. Prior to this he was Interim President at the State University of New York at Cobleskill; Dean of Students and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Philander Smith College; Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of Afro-American Studies at Chatham College; Vice President for Student Affairs, Associate Vice president for Research and Educational Development, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, 2nd Chair of the Department of Afro-American Studies at the State University of New York Albany; Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Special Programs for State University of New York’s System of sixty-four campuses.

 

Dr. Pogue is the author of numerous publications, has traveled extensively throughout the world, received many honors and awards.

 

He serves on the Executive committee of the Millennium Leadership Initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), an entity created to prepare individuals for the college and university presidency and other senior-level leadership positions.

 

Dr. Pogue's areas of expertise include leadership selection and coaching; institutional review and transformation, organizational alignment, student affairs and community relations.

 

Dr. Pogue earned his B.A. degree at Alabama State College (now known as Alabama State University), his M.A. from Atlanta University (now Atlanta-Clarke University) and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
