Background
Dr. Frank G. Pogue is President Emeritus of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and currently serving as Interim President of Chicago State University.
Dr. Pogue served as Interim President at the State University of New York at Cobleskill; as Dean of Students and Chairman of the Department of Sociology at Philander Smith College; Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of Afro-American Studies at Chatham College; Vice President for Student Affairs, Associate Vice president for Research and Educational Development, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Chairman of the Department of Afro-American Studies at the State University of New York Albany; Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Special Programs for State University of New York’s System of sixty-four campuses.
As a teacher and research scholar, Dr. Pogue has enjoyed a successful career in higher education for forty-five years. He is the author of numerous publications, has traveled extensively throughout the world, received many honors and awards.
Dr. Pogue continues to serve on the Executive committee of the Millennium Leadership Initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), and entity created to prepare individuals for the college and university presidency and other senior-level leadership positions.
Dr. Pogue earned his B.A. degree at Alabama State College (now known as Alabama State University), his M.A. from Atlanta University (now Atlanta-Clarke University) and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
